Sofitel Luxury Hotels Hosts Photo Exhibit Celebrating Brigitte Bardot

This will mark the first time an exhibit featuring the international icon will appear in North America. The exhibit, which was designed in collaboration with Henry-Jean Servat, a famed French journalist and author, retraces the life of French icon Brigitte Bardot with an exclusive selection of photos, following her extraordinary cinematographic experience from teenage dreamer to modern day star. Through never-before-seen snapshots, visitors can admire the different facets of the actress, who throughout her career distinguished herself through her beauty, spontaneity and carefree spirit and whose personality led her to be regarded not only as a legend and sex symbol, but also as the embodiment of women's liberation. In 2012, the French actress will also be honored at an event at the legendary Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.

2011 was another record year for Accor in Asia Pacific. The company added 67 hotels in 10 countries throughout the region. Sam Shih has been appointed as Chairman and Chief Operating Officer for Accor Greater China. He will be responsible for Accor’s development and operations in Greater China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei) where the group currently operates 110 hotels and has plans to quadruple its network by 2015. Accor recently decided to assess its environmental impact 15 years after it took a stand and started taking concrete action to embrace sustainable development. This Group started working on gauging its environmental footprint at the end of 2010, to gather a comprehensive corpus of reliable facts in order to step up its strategy on that front. This study is in a class of its own, and stretches beyond measuring greenhouse-gas emissions to encompass energy and water consumption, water pollution and waste generation throughout lifecycles in the Group.

Accor announces the sale of seven Suite Novotel hotels in France for €77 million, as part of its asset-light strategy. Representing a total of 930 rooms, the hotels will be leased back under variable-rent contracts. The transaction will be carried out before the end of 2011 with a consortium of leading French institutional investors through a property investment fund (OPCI) managed by La Française REM and Atream as asset manager. It includes an €8.7 million renovation program, of which €4.7 million will be financed by the buyer.
