Mark Pearce has been appointed Senior Vice President, International Division at [[Choice Hotels International, Inc.]] in Silver Spring - MD, United States. A 25-year travel industry veteran, Peace joined Choice Hotels in 1993 as vice president, sales and marketing for Choice Hotels Canada and most recently served as vice president of international operations. He recently led the organization's effort to acquire the remaining 60 percent ownership interest in Choice Hospitality (India) Ltd., providing Choice the ability to accelerate its growth and ongoing management of the Choice brand in this important market, as well as allow Choice-brand hotels in India the opportunity to take advantage of the full range of marketing and support services available to them. Heading into the busiest fundraising time of year, nonprofits are feeling the pinch of the economic downturn. Charitable giving fell last year by the largest percentage in five decades, according to a study by the Giving USA Foundation. The Foundation Center expects foundation giving to decrease 8 – 13 percent this year.

Todd Davis has been appointed Chief Technology Officer at [[Choice Hotels International, Inc.]] in Silver Spring - MD, United States. Davis will report to Patrick Pacious, senior vice president of corporate strategy and information technology. In this role, Davis, a 14-year Choice associate, will oversee all of the company’s information systems planning and operations, including all phases of systems development, global infrastructure management and data center operations. In addition, he will play a key role in the IT governance process to ensure the information technology operations are aligned with the company’s business and growth strategies and that information system teams are executing on key business priorities. Davis most recently served as vice president of property systems development and administration for Choice Hotels before entering into his current role. His hospitality industry career includes various positions within hotel operations and management. Immediately prior to joining Choice, he served as an advanced systems engineer for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) focusing on hotel industry solutions. Prior to EDS, he designed global reservation solutions for Cendant Corporation (now Wyndham Worldwide) and focused on the consolidation of the company’s multiple data centers. Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northern Arizona University.

Patrick Cimerola has been appointed Senior VP Human Resources and Administration at [[Choice Hotels International, Inc.]] in Silver Spring - MD, United States. Cimerola, who had served as Choice's vice president of human resources since 2003, is responsible for overseeing the company's broad spectrum of human resources programs and services and aligning them in support of Choice's business operations, growth strategies and objectives. Prior to joining Choice in 2002 as senior director, human resources, Cimerola held a variety of positions in the healthcare services and hospitality fields during his 18-year career. His previous positions included eight years with ManorCare (formerly the parent company of Choice Hotels). He is a 1991 graduate of La Salle University and holds a master's degree in administration from Central Michigan University. He serves as a member of the Human Resources Committee for the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA).
